Celebrate Local Record Stores during the 8th Annual Record Store Day on April 18th, 2015
On Saturday, April 18, 2015, the 8th annual Record Store Day will take place in the United States and Internationally. Since 2007, the event has been held on the third Saturday in April with the intent on bringing attention, crowds, and exclusive offering to local independent record stores. As a way of acknowledging and celebrating the special role independently owned record stores play in their local communities, participating stores receive select titles in limited release or ones that may not be distributed nationally. This year’s list of national exclusive releases for Record Store Day 2015 includes, Johnny Cash, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters, Jerry Garcia, Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, The Stooges, U2, Brian Wilson, and Johnny Winter.
In Fort Wayne, Indiana, Record Store Day events, live music, and exclusive releases will be offered by Wooden Nickel Music at all three of their Fort Wayne locations. Founded in 1982, Wooden Nickel Music features a huge variety and collection of new and used CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records. Additionally, they carry a large selection of t-shirts and posters, as well as musical accessories such as guitar strings and drum sticks.
