Advanced Media Integration Uncovers Rare Ernie Banks Footage
Recently, while transferring some old reels of 8mm film to DVD, we came across some rare footage of former Chicago Cub great, Ernie Banks. In the footage, Ernie Banks can be seen testing a pitching machine and signing autographs for local children. The film is from the spring of 1974 and gives a rare look at one of major league baseball’s all time greats. With our client’s permission, we wanted to share this vintage footage after Mr. Banks passed away this past January.
Ernie Banks played 19 seasons, from 1953-1971, as a first baseman and shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. As one of the organizations all time greats, he earned the nickname “Mr. Cub.” A first ballot hall of famer, he appeared in 14 all-star games and was named the national league MVP twice.
